The BAFTA Film Awards air today – How to watch online and on TV

The BAFTA awards will take place today in London and many prominent individuals and groups are in the nominations for this year. It’ll be hard to guess who ultimately wins, but figuring out where to watch the BAFTA Awards isn’t hard.

What is BAFTA?

The British Academy Film Awards or BAFTA Film Awards is an annual awards show that honors and rewards the best contributions to films. These contributions can be UK or international and the awards are organized by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.

This year’s BAFTA 2022 awards ceremony will feature and announce the winners for a total of twenty-five categories. This year’s awards ceremony will take place at the Royal Albert Hall in London. As for the nominations, the popular science fiction film Dunes, and Jane Camson The power of the dog will be in the lead this year for Best Picture.

And for the main actor awards, Benedict Cumberbatch, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Lady Gaga will be at the top of this year’s nominations. So far, Dune has received a total of eleven nominations, including Best Picture, Cinematography, and Original Score nominations.

The BAFTAs take place under the cloud of the Ukraine war

The BAFTA awards will take place under the cloud of the ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Krishnendu Majumdarthe BAFTA chairman shared his thoughts on the ongoing war saying: “We stand in solidarity with all Ukrainians who bravely fight for their country and we share their hope for a return to peace”.

This will be the first time the prizes have been awarded in person since the lockdown due to the pandemic. Then on March 27andthe Oscars will take place.

How to watch the BAFTAs?

The BAFTA 2022 will take place on the 13and March at 9 a.m. ET or 12 p.m. PT, but red carpet coverage will begin an hour before and can be viewed on the British Academy’s Facebook page.

People living in the US can best watch the BAFTA awards through BritBox. BritBox is a BBC and ITV joint venture that lets you watch UK movies and series. As for the subscription, you can either subscribe directly to the service on the official BritBox website or subscribe through the app which can be downloaded on almost all major devices and platforms.

UK residents can stream the BAFTAs on BBC and BBC iPlayer and can tune in to the show on the 13thand March at 7:00 p.m. GMT. But if you don’t have access to the BBC or BritBox, you can use a Virtual Private Network or VPN and stream the show from anywhere on the planet.
