NC State faces Louisville in ACC action at Carter-Finley
NC State (5-2) hosts Louisville (4-3) in an ACC Atlantic Division battle.

Devin connection to Devin
Devin Leary hit Devin Carter for a 12 yard touchdown with 5:53 left to put NC State up 8. It was the second fourth quarter touchdown pass for Leary and the first touchdown of the day for Carter.
Pennix = six
Trent Pennix, the former running back who now plays on the tight end, slipped off the line and found himself all alone for a 29-yard touchdown in the Pack’s first practice of the fourth quarter, giving NC State a 13-10 lead with 14:26 remaining.
Louisville 10, NC State 7: End of third quarter
NC State had six final punt drives as they headed into the fourth quarter down three. Louisville connected on a 42-yard field goal in the third quarter for the only score so far in the second half.
James Turner’s field goal
After missing a chip shot in the first half, Louisville kicker James Turner connected on a 42-yard field goal to start the second half. The kick gave the Cardinals a 10-7 lead over NC State with 11:15 left in the third quarter.
NC State 7, Louisville 7: Half-time
Neither team could find the end zone as NC State and Louisville failed to score a goal in the second quarter. The Cardinals built a 13-game campaign to enter Wolfpack territory, but Malik Cunningham was sacked by Savion Jackson in the final game of the half.
NC State had 166 yards in the first half and had three goals and three of four practices in the second quarter.
The Battle of Shyheim eliminates Cunningham
Malik Cunningham took another hit on the NC State secondary, but Wolfpack cornerback Shyheim Battle didn’t have it. The battle knocked out Cunningham, for the game’s first turnover. NC State didn’t have a forced turnover last week and now has nine interceptions this season.
NC State 7, Louisville 7: End of the first quarter
NC State racked up 128 yards on two drives to pass Louisville 7-0 after a quarter-game. Senior wide receiver Emeka Emezie caught two passes for 44 yards in the second practice of the quarterback, with Devin Leary’s last 19 going for a touch. Louisville drove to his first practice, but missed a field goal in the fourth and fifth.
The Cardinals caught up when Malik Cunningham hit Jordan Watkins for 76 yards on the last play of the first quarter.
