Easter egg hunts in the region on Saturdays | News, Sports, Jobs

WELCOME – There’s an Easter Egg Hunt scheduled for Saturday at 9 a.m. at Keck Park in Welcome. There are also other Easter egg hunts in the area. There is a hunt at Sherburn at 9am, one at Dunnell at 10am and one at Trimont at 10:30am. Sounds fun if the weather permits.

Have a wonderful Easter Sunday. Area churches are planning services. St. Paul’s United Christ Church in Welcome will have a 7 a.m. service on Sunday. Circle of Faith parishes will have services in each of the group’s four churches. Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome will have a 7 a.m. service, First Lutheran Church in Trimont will also have a 7 a.m. service. Waverly Lutheran North of Welcome

will have services at 9 a.m. and St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have services at 9 a.m. All area residents are invited to join these congregations for special Easter services.

There will be a walk through fellowship for Circle of Faith parishes at Waverly and Trinity Lutheran churches from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. this Sunday.

Ruby’s Pantry drive via grocery distribution will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Monday at the Sherburn Regional Worship Center, just south of I-90. The cost is $22 for a chest full of boxes of groceries. There are no income or residency guidelines, all are welcome.

The host Legion auxiliaries will have a meeting Monday at 7:00 p.m. in the host Legion hall. All members are invited to attend.

Condolences to the families of Nancy (Tish) Leyh and Mildred Miller of Welcome who recently passed away. We will miss them.

Welcome Town Council will meet on Tuesday, April 19 at 6 p.m. at Welcome Town Hall. There is always a time for public comments and questions at the start of every unqualified meeting. To be on the regular agenda, please contact the clerk at (507) 728-8740 prior to the meeting.

Upcoming events include a CREST-sponsored luncheon to be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. These free rallies are for anyone in Martin County. A voluntary donation is appreciated for the meal. Plan to attend.

Trimont will be hosting jumble sales across the city from April 21-23. Anyone wishing to get their sellout on the ad must give the information (location, dates and times, list of certain items, as well as the name if you want it published) and the $10 cost from writing to Karla Geerdes at 430 Chestnut St. East in Trimont by Monday, April 18. Karla and Deb are looking for someone to organize this sale next year. Let them know if you are interested.
