Rooftop Party at Ponce City Market

Celebrate Independence Day with an all-you-can-eat Lowcountry boil on the Ponce City Market rooftop featuring poached Georgia shrimp, BBQ pork with a trio of regional sauces, summer harvest salad with strawberries and desserts including apple pie and banana pudding sprouts. Tickets also include music from DJs, makeup artists, balloon artists, and unlimited access to boardwalk games, mini-golf and more. The boil is from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

11 a.m. to 10 p.m. 4th July. Tickets including porridge: $ 65 for adults, $ 45 for children 4 to 12 years old. Starter without boiling: $ 30. The roof of the Ponce City Market, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave., Atlanta.

Cooking with children

Join the Captain Planet Foundation of Atlanta for Cook, Eat Sprout, a week-long virtual cooking camp for elementary school kids. Atlanta chef and health educator Asata Reid, author of “How to Feed a Child: A Guide for Parents,” will lead virtual plant-based cooking classes, guiding children through recipes that include donuts. zucchini, cobbler with peaches and sautéed vegetables. Profits will help support school and community gardens in Metro Atlanta.

3 pm-4pm July 12-16. $ 15 per session or $ 50 per week.

Try Juniper Café

Lazy Betty chef Ron Hsu gives guests a taste of his latest business, Juniper Cafe, which is slated to open later this year in West Midtown. The pop-up will feature dishes and drinks from Juniper’s menu, including summer rolls, banh mi, noodle salad, pho, cookies, and coconut shaved snow, and will will run until 9 p.m. or until they are sold out.

Whiskey dinner

Nan Thai Fine Dining will host a private dinner with Bulleit Frontier Whiskey, featuring a four-course dinner menu developed by Chef Nan Niyomkul, accompanied by four Bulleit Frontier Whiskey cocktails from Nan Bar Manager Brian Seo. A representative from Bulleit Frontier will be on hand to discuss the whiskeys.

Southern spirits

Nibble and sip as you explore the Southern Museum after hours of the museum’s first Southern Spirits event. Tickets include live music, drinks, museum admission, free pint, appetizers from Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken’s Kennesaw location, and drinks provided by Burnt Hickory Brewery, Lazy Guy Distillery and Savannah Distributing Co.
